Maritime Training Programs

The McRoberts Maritime Training System is a state-of-the-art program designed to delivery on-site training in ports throughout the country that complies with IMO, federal, USCG and state regulations. The training system is broken into modules that can be tailored to meet ship and facility schedules and specific training requirements.

The McRoberts Maritime Security Orientation Course© is a federally compliant, one or two-day course designed to orientate students to the maritime security environment and provide specific training in subjects required by the US Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002 (MTSA) and state law. All McRoberts maritime security officers have completed this course.

The McRoberts Maritime Screener Course© is a federally compliant, four-day TSA-based course that is taught by a seasoned TSA instructor using group and computer-based training and testing. The course is tailored to meet the manning and procedure specific requirements of the cruise terminal and ship gangways. This course can be tailored to the specific needs of the client. All McRoberts maritime screeners have successfully completed this course.

The McRoberts Maritime Leadership Training Program© is designed to give supervisory personnel the necessary regulatory expertise and leadership skills to be successful in today’s highly-regulated and fast-paced maritime environment. The 244-hour course includes classroom lecture and on-the-job training and evaluations.

Exportable Training Solutions

McRoberts also has training programs exportable to facilities and ships anywhere in the world.

The Combined Security Officer Certification Course is a training program geared towards Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) / Ship Security Officer (SSO) and Company Security Officer (CSO) Certification. The course consists of 28 hours (3½ days) of instruction covering all required elements as specified in the MTSA and ISPS Code.

The Facility and Shipboard Personnel Security Awareness Courses are designed to instruct port facility, shipboard crew and employees on general security awareness topics required by both the ISPS Code and the MTSA. This course is based upon the model structure outlined by the IMO model course.
